Cebu is literally situated in the center of the 7,107 islands that make up the Philippine archipelago. Home to approximately 3 million, Cebu is known for its warmth and hospitality. You may immediately notice this, as even people you’ve never met before call you by first name and hug you like long lost family. Okay, so your name isn’t actually Joe, but to most Cebuanos, it’s all in the ritual of welcoming foreigners to the big Cebuano family. Visayan is the native tongue, while Tagalog and English are commonly understood and spoken – very well! You won’t have to use that tiny pocket dictionary after all!

Cebu is the education center for Central and Eastern Visayas as well as Northern Mindanao. At last count, there are around a dozen colleges and universities in Cebu and probably twice that number of high schools. Literacy is high and with the quality of education people are receiving here, it’s no wonder more and more international companies recruit from our region. In fact, the Philippines is ranked #1 in the availability of knowledge-based job and workers worldwide, and ranked 4th among Asian nations in labor quality, according to a survey conducted by the U.S. based Meta Group.

• “Tourist Country” Attractions

Imagine pristine white sand beaches and azure tropical waters. Cebu is home to the best resorts in the country and is considered by many as the diving capital of the Philippines. And the best thing about Cebu is that many of the beaches and resorts are only about an hour's drive from downtown - so you can snorkel by day and dress for cocktails at night. Need we say more?
